Within my own sessions, I have seen a difference in the way boys approach a prompt versus girls. There are only two boys in the class I am in, so this may be skewed, but I’ve noticed that girls tend to take the prompt more emotionally, whereas boys take it scientifically. For example, the class had the choice of talking about mental health, or AIDS/HIV in Africa. Both boys chose to talk about HIV, whereas almost every girl I met with chose to talk about mental health. The girls included personal anecdotes, whereas the boys included facts and statistics. I thought that was very interesting.
